ETFO’s Sharing in Assessment Aug 5 16

Though just released by the Elementary Teachers’ Federation of Ontario, this was a project I had developed about 3 years ago. But don’t worry, everything on it is still very relevant! If you are a teacher and need some new ideas for assessment tools to use in your classroom, download away for free! All tools were created by your colleagues. AODA Compliant, the website features a ton of downloads and videos of assessment tools.

Trent Math Education Research Collaborative Aug 5 16

From the very beginning of my career in education, I was both an elementary teacher and research assistant with Dr. Cathy Bruce at Trent University, as part of her Trent Math Education Research Collaborative. Apart from my research duties I became the designer, developer and content manager of our team’s website and PD resources. If you are an educator, there are many great resources available to you through this website!

Harem Scarem LIVE on Blu-Ray Nov 11 15

For the length of time that I have been playing music and using my camera, I’m surprised it took me this long to film a live show. Fortunate enough to be a part of the Harem Scarem family, in July of 2015 I filmed (along with my colleague Shay Carriere) Harem Scarem’s Live at the Phoenix BluRay, available worldwide on Frontier Records December 11, 2015. You can check out a sample track by clicking the above image.

Bury the Bully Jun 3 15

Honing my skills from the time that I was 13 years old with 3 of my best friends, all the way to the end, has certainly taught me a lot about music, business and integrity. The time I spent in Bury the Bully is something I could never replace or forget. Thank goodness for timeless recordings. Check it out. You can also view photos, videos and what each of us are currently doing since BTB via Facebook

A Journey Through Lesson Study Jun 2 15

As part of the Trent Math Education Research Collaborative team at Trent University with Dr. Cathy Bruce, part of my role is to document teacher meetings and lessons for later data analysis. For this particular project, Math for Young Children, centred around spatial reasoning, I compiled footage from throughout the year filmed by teachers and researchers and later interviewed team members about their experience using the Lesson Study model.

richmcphersonmusic.com May 12 15

This website serves as my home base for music and links to social media pages. Aside from my own solo works that I continue to develop, you can find music and links to my past band ‘Bury the Bully’. Written and recorded with great friends from the time I was 13 years old. Check it out and listen to some sample tunes, music videos, or heck, maybe buy a record or two.

Professional Learning in the Early Years May 12 15

Designed for the Elementary Teachers’ Federation of Ontario (ETFO), I aimed to take a different approach to the accessibility standards in Ontario with something a bit more unique. This site is rich with video and photos from classrooms around Ontario. Though much of it was filmed almost 6 years ago, the material is still very relevant to today’s educator. New video of classrooms are currently being filmed. The site was developed by cartogram.ca

“Three Kings” May 12 15

The skills of my talented cousin Scott never cease to amaze me. Here’s a piece he animated a few years ago for fun that I took a shot at adding some sound to. The result is pretty cool. You can check out more of Scott’s work at MCPHERSO.tv You won’t be disappointed!

Milk ‘Sk8ter’ Commercial May 4 15

Why not throw it back to my younger days and have a bit of fun, where I had the privilege to work with Doane & LeBlanc singing on this killer ‘Sk8ter’ Milk commerical. Hitting the online market, television and movie theatres, it was certainly a nice opening riff to hear being played as I studied for my degree. A little extra cash for books. Yes. Books.
